The Indian War Memorial was erected in Provo's Pioneer Park in 1909. Unveiled on Pioneer Day (July 24th) of that year, the monument depicts a pioneer veteran of the Indian War.
There are four plaques on the monument.
The East plaque lists names of the "1849 Pioneers of Provo":
